 | | Cerro Lindo
Cerro Lindo means pretty hill in Spanish. We chose that name
after the hill in our property where our house sits. The hill is the highest
point in the 28.5 acre property, so we have 360° views, obstructed only in a
few spots by trees. The vegetation is typical for the 2400 ft. elevation that
marks the top of our property -- ponderosa and ghost pines, incense cedars, a
few varieties of oaks, manzanita and toyon brush, and a variety of grasses and
other small plants. We cleared most of the fire-dangerous manzanita and toyon
from the immediate surroundings of the house. The result is a beautiful, almost
parkland hill with our house on it, hence Cerro Lindo.

Solar Electrical Power. In the summer of 2009 we
installed a photovoltaic solar power system. We expect it to generate most
of our electrical power needs. Here is a set of pictures detailing the
installation of the system. |
